Scheduled Comments:
Deputy Steve Loomis from the Shiawassee Sherriff Department stated everything was going
well in the township.
Dean Welte, Shiawassee Road Commission representative, went over the road projects. The
gradall is now paid but Mr. Welte would like to check the legalities of the township continuing
to pay the gradall fee to build a fund to purchase a new one in the future.
The county will be appropriating $10,000.00 towards the townships road projects.
Mr. Welte is encouraging everyone to contact Ben Glardon and Joe Hune regarding Act 51,
which is funded through the gas tax and how the money is distributed. There is a possibility of
the money being distributed by population instead of miles of road. Less populated counties
will suffer a loss in road fund money.
Trustee Kiger questioned Mr. Welte on brine prices. Mr. Welte and Mr. Michalec explained to
Mr. Kiger their decision.
