Business:
1. Cemetery-Rich Givens presented to the board the progress of putting information into the computer.
He reviewed the progression of how the cemetery was acquired. There is only one marker found in B
section. There are no mapped surveys of what the width of paths and where the markers lie. The 2003
survey has the points for the surveyors to use. There is no survey plat for all of the lots laid out. We
cannot find anything to show it has been platted. Rich wants to find a starting point to establish a
correct plotting of the township’s cemetery. Trustee Givens and Supervisor Herendeen heavily
discussed the starting point of the cemetery plotting points. There is a possibility the oil map was laid
out without a survey. The discussion of probing or using headstones was debated on reliability.
Trustee Givens stated measuring would be the surest way.
Trustee Givens made a motion to hire Spicer survey for two days at $1,000 dollars per day. No
support on the motion. The motion laid on the table.
Supervisor Herendeen and Trustee Givens strongly disagreed with how the survey should be done.
The subject was tabled until the next meeting.
Treasurer Stevens addressed the cemetery needing a position to sell lots, take money, and put data
into the computer. Stevens feels the issue needs to be addressed. Stevens made a suggestion to put
an ad in the paper to hire a deputy clerk for the purpose of administered the cemetery.
Treasurer Stevens left for an appointment at 11:25 am.
