Supervisor Herendeen supported the motion. Public Comments: Opened at 7:01 pm Closed at 7:15 pm Corky MeCreery spoke regarding the standing water on Wilkinson Rd by Chapman’s house,east of Vincent road. Corky suggested bringing a load of gravel and feels the water needs a way to flow into the ditch. Trustee Semans stated he could give the road commission a call regarding the issue. Corky is concerned about winter time and the condition deteriorating. Motion to Approve Agenda: Treasurer Stevens made a motion to approve the agenda with the addition of new CD. Clerk Brown seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Motion to Approve Minutes: Treasurer Stevens made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 12th 2018. Trustee Semans seconded the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Motion to approve August and September Bills: Trustee Semans made a motion to approve the bills from the Road Fund in an amount of $65,964.74 with checks 1044-1048. Clerk Brown supported the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Clerk Brown made a motion to approve the General Fund bills in an amount of $8,683.40 with 2 EFT and checks 4910-4923. Treasurer Stevens supported the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Communications: Park and Recreation: None OMESA: Fire hall is going up. November 1 is the when it should be ready but Chief Stevens wants to wait until December 1 for the open house. The board discussed the allocation of funds for OMESA from the emergency funds to cover the expenses of moving to the new building. The board discussed the Emergency Fund and how the money is to be spent. Library: A monetary donation from the Maron Family. The family wishes to have the library purchase a picnic table with a memorial plaque. MTA Meeting: Annual meeting Thursday, November 1 at 6 pm with social hour at 5:30pm at DeMar’s banquet center. The cost $23.00 per person. RSVP needs to be into Cindy Garber. Assessor Communications: Diane will be going out and reviewing construction in our township as the weather improves. Business: Insurance Policy: Herendeen asked if there are any changes in coverage from last year. Clerk Brown did not think there was any changes. Supervisor asked about the liability coverage. The board reviewed the policy and discussed the Emergency service liability. Supervisor Herendeen expressed concerns on how low the liabilities but they are the same as last year. Last year the board did approved the addition of the terrorism coverage. Treasurer Stevens made a motion to renew the insurance policy at $3,771.00 with the addition of the terrorism overage at $28.00. Trustee Semans supported the motion. Yes: All Nay: None Carried Farmland Application: PA16 Farmland Application for the farm on Vincent and Cronk Rd. Placing the farmland in PA 116 is to agree not to develop the land. The county is the level that actually approves the PA 116. CD: Treasurer Stevens found an offer from the bank for CD at 2.2 percent interest rate. Trustee Semans made a motion to move $75,000.00 from the General Fund to a CD at the 2.2 percent for one year. Supervisor Herendeen seconded the motion. Ayes: All Nays: None Approved Supervisor Herendeen asked Trustee Semans if Lynn Bowne has been in touch with him. Supervisor Herendeen stated we can quick claim the deed of the parcels. There will be two deeds created. Lynn Bowne will also do a title search. Hopefully by November the deeds will be completed. Final Comments: Opened at 7:59 pm Closed at 8:15 pm Treasurer Stevens asked about the wood cutting if they have been notified. Supervisor Herendeen stated the person called him and she is aware. Trustee Kiger brought up about the brine. He wants to know if the 26 percent versus the 38 percent placement will help the roads. Trustee Kiger wants to know if we should add extra brine on the Wilkinson Road area. Treasurer Stevens stated that it is not just Wilkinson Rd but also Vincent and Mason Rd. Corky McCreery stated he feels Wilkinson roads needs more attention due to all the farms on this road. Corky McCreery stated he is not against farming but he feels they travel to fast down the roads. Trustee Kiger feels we need to do something. He wants to know how much more it would cost the township to apply more brine to those roads. Supervisor Herendeen stated instead of a heavier brine maybe placing a third application of brine. Trustee Kiger could get a price for the heavier brine. Trustee Kiger wants to know how much over the price for the heavier brine. Trustee Semans stated again how nice the brush looks around our township. Trustee Semans feels the road commission did a nice job this year. Motion to adjourn the meeting: Adjourned at 8:16 pm Without objection the supervisor adjourned the meeting at 8:16 pm.
