M-21, Ovid, MI Tuesday December 12, 2023 7:00 pm REGULAR MEETING Call to Order: Supervisor Swan called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Board Members Present: Supervisor Jeffery Swan, Clerk Jamie Aldrich, Treasurer Jill Ruess, Trustee Greg Atwood and Trustee Gene Ruess Guests Present: Guests were present: 8 Marlene Webster, Mark Darling, Mike Herendeen, Gary Keiger, Dennis (representing Owosso Speedway), Satendra Guru, Mark Holly Scheduled Comments: Marlene Webster- courthouse renovations are complete and everyone is moved back in. All dog licenses must go through the County Treasurer, no longer done at local entities. County is looking at verbiage for upcoming energy bill. Medical facility in county is proposing expansion. Public Comments: Opened at 7:02 pm Closed at 7:20 pm Wants to buy property from Crow Auctions, wants to open vineyard. Needs to make sure that we will allow wine tasting. Owosso Speedway, improvements going strong. Motion to Approve Agenda: G. Atwood made a motion to approve agenda as amended. G. Ruess seconded the motion. Aldrich, G. Atwood, G. Ruess, J. Ruess, J. Swan Communications: MTA- Meetings are moved to every other month, next meeting February 2024 Library- Library will have updates starting in February. New floors, painting etc. Updates had not been done in 27 years. OMESA- Working on S.O.P. Getting new fire truck, around April. Clerk- no updates Assessor- 3 B.O.R. cases. Will get new numbers from the county sometime next year. Business: 1. New Hall: Table until next year. 2. Ambulance Services: Fees have gotten extremely expensive. Jeff went over spreadsheet with proposals from Owosso and Laingsburg. Spoke about needing to increase our millage to cover the cost. Jeff proposed that we get the wording together for the proposal and have Matt McKone look over the proposal to replace our current millage. Spoke about getting the word out to people to give them the information needed to understand the millage. Final Comments: Opened at 7:55 pm Closed at 7:56 pm G. Atwood questioned the missing signs on Glenwood. Jeff spoke to Chris Cannon about getting the signs replaced and they are working on it. .
