Aldrich called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. Board Members Present: Supervisor: Clerk Jamie Aldrich, Treasurer Jill Ruess, Trustee Greg Atwood and Trustee Gene Ruess Absent: J. Swan In absence of the supervisor the Clerk will moderate the meeting until the board makes a motion and a voice vote is called for meeting moderator. Ruess made a motion to amend the agenda and remove items not listed in the special meeting notice and J. Aldrich approve agenda as amended. seconded the motion. Review of administrative items and resolutions. a. Resolutions i. Deputy Clerk, Deputy Treasurer and Office Manager compensation- Stays the same no changes made. ii. General meeting fee- J. Ruess made the motion to change the general meeting fee from $60.00 to $75.00 per meeting affective April 1, 2024. G. Ruess seconded the motion. 2024-02 Middlebury Township General Meeting Fee Replaces Resolution 2022-08 WHEREAS, a fairer compensation is sought for all who sit on a board other than the Township board, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED effective April 1, 2024 that the following motion was proposed and approved upon: The general meeting fee for official township meetings and business shall be $75.00 per meeting unless otherwise specified. This replaces the former general meeting amount of $60.00. Motion made by Treasurer J. Ruess seconded by G. Ruess to adopt the foregoing resolution. Upon roll call vote, the following voted aye: J. Ruess, J. Aldrich, G. Ruess, G. Atwood Upon roll call vote, the following voted nay: None Absent: J. Swan The Chair declared the resolution adopted. iii. Trustee Salary- Stays the same no changes made. iv. Supervisor, Treasurer and Clerk salary 2024- Middlebury Township Supervisor, Treasurer & Clerk Salary Replaces 2022- WHEREAS, the township board deems that an adjustment in the salary of the office of supervisor, treasurer and clerk is warranted in consideration of the increase in the cost of living and length of time since salaries were last adjusted, as well as additional duties assigned by the state; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that as of April 1, 2024 the salary of the office of Supervisor, Treasurer & Clerk will be as follows: Supervisor: $15,000.00 per annum made payable in twelve monthly installments. Treasurer: $15,000.00 per annum made payable in twelve monthly installments. Clerk: $17,000.00 per annum made payable in twelve monthly installments. Motion made by J. Ruess, seconded by G. Atwood to adopt the foregoing resolution Upon a roll call vote, the following voted Aye: J. Aldrich, G. Atwood, G. Ruess, J. Ruess, Upon a roll call vote, the following voted Nay: None Absent: J. Swan The Chair declared the resolution adopted. b. Home office allocation. J. Ruess makes a motion to move home allowance from $350.00 to $450.00 annually to be paid in April and to move trustees from $75.00 to $100.00 annually. G. Atwood seconded the motion. RESOLUTION 2024- MIDDLEBURY TOWNSHIP Resolution to set the Trustee’s home office allowance to be paid annually in the following manor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Clerk, Supervisor, and Treasurer of the Middlebury Township Board shall receive $450.00 annually and the Trustees will receive $100.00 annually for compensation of having a home office. This will be paid in April of each year. The foregoing resolution was offered by Treasurer J. Ruess and seconded by G. Atwood. Upon a roll call vote, the following voted Aye: J. Aldrich, G. Training opportunities-MTA e. 2024 Audit- J. Ruess made a motion to hire Maner Costerian for our bi annual audit and have the clerk sign to begin this process. G. Atwood second this motion.
